Walking out of the spaceship Kurama turned around and tried to figure out the events that had just unfolded. A small alien came to warn him of an invasion, then he fought off a small army of fifty henchmen as he made his way to defeat their alien leader, in a single attack. “Well this was one hell of a Saturday” he said as he extended both arms, charging a huge ki blast. “Better get rid of the evidence, wouldn't want someone to stumble upon this in the woods one day.” And with that he released his large ball of energy at the ship, when it made contact the ship exploded into thousands of tiny pieces that were scattered all across the forest. Just then Kurama caught a glimpse of a shadowy figure out of the corner of his eye, the figure was moving so fast he was unable to make out who, or what it was. Taking a defensive stance Kurama shouted, “Show yourself!”
But all Kurama got back was a disembodied voice which said, “I've been watching you Kurama, you have the potential to become a great warrior, but there are still many things you need to learn.” Slightly confused Kurama replied back to the voice, “How do you know my name? How long have you been watching me? And who are you?”
“So many questions, in time my friend, in time. But first you still need to learn in order to become a better fighter, so you can discover your past. That is what you want to do, isn't it Kurama?” the voice replied.
“How can he possibly know so much about me?” Kurama thought to himself, “What do you mean I still need to learn?! You couldn't have watching too closely then because you obviously didn't see me take out fifty of those aliens and then defeat their leader, in a” but before he could finish his sentence he was struck in the back by the shadow man, falling to the ground. “Why is it that everyone keeps attacking me from the back?” Kurama thought to himself, turning around he saw nothing, he frantically began looking around when he was attacked again, but this time a blow to his chest sent him flying back a few feet before the ground finally broke his fall. “This is ridiculous,” he thought, “ I didn't even see him and still attacked me head on!”
“You think you're hot shit don't you, those guards didn't have a powerlevel over five-hundred, and their leader relied on cheap tricks and deception to win her battles. If she had done her homework you might not be having this conversation with me right now. You are strong, I will give you that much, but it takes more than just brute strength and a few lucky attacks to become a powerful warrior. I watched your fight with the Changeling, and I must admit, it was pretty pathetic. You need to learn how to fight, not just how to attack. Without a battle strategy you will become your opponent's bitch in every battle you fight, and all you'll have is your pathetic ego to mop your tears. You need to know, not think, that you will be able to out-wit any opponent you come across. And you'll never be able to do that if you keep going at the pace you're at!” as the shadow man rushed in and gave Kurama a hard knee to the stomach.
Double over, Kurama thought to himself, “Changeling? Warrior? Mops? What is this guy talking about? Non of it's making any sense to me, but I need to find out about my past, about what happened to me.” Standing up Kurama saw the shadow man, only he wasn't in shadow anymore. He wore black martial arts pants, and a long sleeve white martial arts shirt as well, but he had a hood on over his head, making it impossible to see his face. “Who are you? What are changelings?” Kurama asked.
“Ignorant fool, did you think that you were alone in this universe? There are many other races that exist today. You already know the humans, they're natives on this planet, and the creature you fought with the horns, that's a changeling, ruthless and violent they are, surprised he let you live, must have thought it wasn't worth the time and energy to waste on someone as weak as you. Of course there are many other races as well, Namekians, Androids, Saiyans, Fades, Hellfighters, and of course yourself” said the man as Kurama stood there with a puzzling look on his face, “You mean you don't even know what race you are?!” said the man in shock.
“Uhh, sorry, I guess not, I really don't know that much about myself.” Kurama replied.
“Well I knew you didn't know about your past, but I at least thought you knew about your own race.” said the man. “Well allow me to give you a crash course on Race 101. You're a Majin, a race that was created by an evil wizard named Bibidi centuries ago. He is best known for his creation Buu, which he used to bring a reign of terror to the universe until the kai's brought that reign to an end. By a sacrifice made by one of the supreme kai's got absorbed by Buu, but the good in the kai's heart was able to turn Buu into a large fun-loving creature, not bent on universal destruction, and completely unobedient to Bibidi. Out of anger he sealed Majin Buu inside a ball, until his son, Babidi sought to release him. However, not long after Buu was released, he turned on Babidi, destroying him in a single attack. After a series of battles, two long warriors stood against Buu and the destruction of the universe. After a long and drawn-out battle he was finally defeated by a technique called the spirit bomb, which destroyed every last particle of him, not allowing him to regenerate and come back to life.”
“Woah, woah, woah, hold on, I can regenerate?” asked Kurama.
“Yeah watch,” the man said as he straightened his hand and extended a beam of ki, forming a sword about three feet long and sliced off Kurama's arm.
“Hey! What'd yah do that for?!” he replied holding the stub of where his arm used to be.
“Don't wine, I know you can't feel anything, you have no bones. Now just focus on your arm and imagine a new one bursting out, this is a critical first step in becoming a great Majin.” said the man. Kurama looked down at his arm and focused, imagining a new arm sprouting out. After a few minutes of intense focus, a new arm burst out of the stub.
“Hey I did it!” Kurama said with excitement.
“Don't get too cocky kid, all you know how to do it regenerate a limb, Buu could regenerate any part of his body, and he could even regenerate from being nothing but smoke in the air. If you didn't know that then I bet you didn't know you can absorb people, and add a portion of their power to yours. You see your arm laying on the ground, it's still a part of you, you have a link between your arm and your mind, you need to make it expand and engulf that squirrel over there.”
Focusing his mind on his arm Kurama began moving his arm, then it expanded rapidly and began to make its way over the rabbit, before the creature knew what was happening the blob came down on the creature. The rabbit tried struggling to get out of the goo but it was no use.
“No bring it to your body, and let it become part of you” the man instructed. Kurama focused on the pile of goo with the rabbit trapped inside, it began to levitate, and come towards Kurama. The goo splashed onto his chest as the rabbit then became part of him, and the goo blended in with the rest of his body. “I don't feel any different” Kurama told the man. “That's because the rabbit didn't have any significant power level worth absorbing, it was just practice so you would be ready when the time came” the man replied. Now, you know how to regenerate and how to absorb, but you're going to need to know some attacks if you want to become a fighter” said the man as he jumped in the air and hovered about ten feet off the ground. “Try not to blink” he said as he created a huge ball of energy above his head, then turned ninety degrees and threw it into the forest.
“Why'd you do that?” Kurama asked.
“I told you not to blink” the man said. Kurama looked back at the ball but realized it wasn't there any more. “Where did it” but before he could finish his sentence the ball re-appeared two feet in front of his face. “Woah!” Kurama said as the ball impacted his body, sending him flying backwards.
“You knew you could manipulate the energy around you to form balls and beams of ki to fire at your opponents, but I bet you didn't know that you can also manipulate the energy around those balls and beams of ki to make them disappear and reappear wherever you chose. Since you're manipulating the energy your body and in the air, you can make the ball travel in a thin beam, impossible to see with the human eye, it moves so quick a large ball like the one I just fired takes less then a second to reappear. You can also chose the direction it travels in as well, like you saw me do by firing it away from you, then changing its direction to come at you. It was the first real technique I ever learned, it's called the Vanishing Ball technique and it comes in handy when you're in a tight spot. And as long as you don't lose focus, you can make the ball disappear and reappear as many times as you'd like, and if you can perfect it as I have, you can even delay how long the ball reappears for. A very useful attack to fire at the beginning of a fight, then have it reappear halfway through the fight!” said the man.
“I have to try that!” Kurama said as he raised his hand and began gathering a large ball of ki in his hand.
“Careful kid, this attack can be extremely useful, but it won't be a walk in the park for you, focusing on redirecting your ki takes practice and mental discipline, without both of those you'll never be able to master this technique” the man advised.
“Alright, so just focus on manipulating my ki and the ki around me to transfer the energy to another location, got it” Kurama replied as he fired his ki ball up in the air. He began to focus on transferring it from traveling straight up in the air traveling straight at the man. In a half a second the ball had disappeared and reappeared a few feet in front of the man. “Yes!” Kurama thought, “I did it!” but no sooner did the ball of ki appear did it disappear again, only this time it didn't re-appear anywhere else. “What the! I didn't do that!” shouted Kurama.
“You're right, it was me. I forgot to tell you that you can transfer energy from an incoming ki attack and redistribute the ki to the air around you, however this takes stamina, so you won't be able to do it forever” the man replied.
“Well that would have been nice to know earlier” Kurama replied.
“Well you wouldn't have known it at all if I hadn't told you, so just be grateful. You didn't do too bad for your first time kid, not bad at all, but don't let it go straight to your head! Now this is the most important thing you'll ever learn so pay attention. This is a dragonball,” the man said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny little ball with one star on it, “there are six others, seven of them in total scattered all throughout the Earth. If you can manage to find all seven of them, a mystical dragon will grant you any wish you desire. I want you to have this,” the man said as he tossed the dragonball to Kurama, “but you have to promise me you'll find them all and make your wish”.
“But why?” asked Kurama.
“Can't you ever just be grateful when you get something from somebody? Maybe if you collect all seven you could wish for an answer to all your questions” the man said as he let out a small laugh. “After you find the next one, come back and find me and I'll teach you a new technique.”
“But how am I going to find you?” Kurama asked the man.
“Oh I'll be around” replied the man, and with a flash of light the man had disappeared.
“Well, I guess I'm off to find the other dragonballs” Kurama said as he flew off from the forest.
